Participants are advised to book their flight as soon as possible.
Transfer from airport
A flybus runs from the airport in connection with every flight
and drives passengers to hotels and guesthouses. Price of flybus
transfer (one way) is 1.150 ISK.
Climate/Time/Daylight
Thanks to the Gulf Stream, Iceland enjoys a cool temperate ocean climate: cool in summer and relatively mild in winter. Average summer temperature ranges from 10 to 13°C. The weather, however, is rather unpredictable and guests should come prepared for the unexpected i.e. occasional showers or stiff winds.
Iceland is on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) throughout the year and does not switch to “daylight saving time” during summer. Sunset in late May is at around 23:27 and sunrise again around 03:26.
Clothing
When travelling in Iceland a warm sweater and weatherproof coat or jacket is essential. Also bring your swimming suit
for the Blue Lagoon and also to try the outdoor
swimming pools heated with geothermal water. Iceland is a wild country and good walking shoes and informal wear are a must.
Registration and information during the conference
The conference secretariat, Meeting Iceland , will be located at Nordica
Hotel and will provide you with all travel and practical information.
